Steel form – AMETI Bridge Pier

• 2 forms to cast total of 4 Piers.
• Steel plate with intermittent ribs
• Rebate section to be removed first after casting
• Two fluted forms bolted to rebate section
• PFS to take engineers design and produce detailed design for forms.
Challenges:
• Steel Plate tad tricky to bend in two directions
• Numerous design innovations made to achieve practical solution
• Bolted Joint between form sections was a channel which twisted in 3D.
• Obround shape fabrication particularly interesting for form face, ribs, and stiffeners.
• Face of steel to be exceptional to achieve high off shutter concrete finish.
