Ballance Condenser Retube

Tubes in existing condenser had thinned and had ro be replaced. project included the following:

  • 1462 tubes, 23mmOD with 1mm wall
  • Tubes Admiralty Brass to ASTM B 111
  • Tube plates kept in position while old tubes removed
  • measured holes to calculate expansion required
  • expanded tubes to desired wall thinning
  • cut and trimmed tube ends to be flush with tube plate
  • refurbished water box and reassembled pressure side of condenser.
