Maintenance | Power & Energy Springhill LPG Vessel

OnGas horizontal bullet vessel at Springhill prison was able to contain more gas than was consented. The vessel had to be reduced in size (shortened).

Key Features:

  • Decomissioned existing vessel at the prison. 
  • Crane and transported to PFS shop. 
  • Cut vessel through the diameter between supports and removed section of the barrel.
  • Internal Gas distribution pipe was shortened and new domed end added. 
  • Shortened barrel joined using Sub-Arc welding equipment & rotators. 
  • Nozzles blanked off and new nozzles added to suit site piping.
  • Modified existing ladder and platform. 
  • Built new platform to give access to both sides of the tank and all nozzles and valves.
  • Painted vessel and transport to site install on new pedestals. 
  • Brought gas vessel back online.
